The Rotenberg Files
The Rotenberg Files is a leak of nearly 30,000 emails and 12,000 documents that shed light on how the Russian oligarchs and Vladimir Putin's childhood friends, brothers Arkady and Boris Rotenberg, hid their companies, mansions, yachts and planes behind the enablers who helped them dodge Western sanctions. A source, who requested anonymity for security reasons, gave these files to IStories.
We shared the documents with reporters from 17 global media outlets including OCCRP, Le Monde, Forbes and The Times, among others. Together we worked for three months on the leak so we could publish our investigations at the same time.
All pieces from the Rotenberg Files are collected here.
